First Time in History, the ICC Cricket Awards Arrived in Pakistan

Shaheen Afridi, Muhammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam were present to celebrate when the ICC Cricket Awards medals arrived in Pakistan. A total of three ICC awards were won by Pakistan in men’s cricket in 2021.

Pakistan has achieved three ICC awards: ICC T20 International Cricket player of the Year, ICC One-Day International Cricket player of the Year, and ICC Men’s Cricket player of the Year.

For his outstanding performance in the 50-over category, which included match-winning performances against England and South Africa, Captain Babar Azam was awarded the ICC One-Day International Batsman of the Year award last year. For his outstanding performance in the short game, Muhammad Rizwan was named T20I Cricketer of the Season for scoring 1,326 runs in 29 games at an average of 73.66.

The most important cricket honour, however, went to Shaheen Afridi, who won the Sir Garfield Sobers Cup for ICC Men’s Cricket player of the Year 2021. In 2021, the fast bowler dominated, getting 78 wickets over 36 games throughout all categories.

The ICC Prizes are a yearly set of international cricket athletics awards that honour and recognize the best players from across the world over the preceding 12 months. The International Cricket Council established the awards.

ICC Cricket Awards

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled specific award categories for players. Every year, 13 individual awards are given out, as well as 5 Team of the Season awards.

Misbahul Haq, a former test captain, was the first Pakistani to win the International Cricket Council’s Spirit of Cricket Award.

This year, Shaheen is the fourth Pakistani cricket player to earn an ICC award. Mohammad Rizwan had recently been named T20I player of the season, Babar Azam had been named ODI player of the year, and Fatima Sana had been named rising player of the period. Shaheen’s win caps an amazing year for Pakistani cricketers, with the Green Shirts dominating the ICC prizes for 2021.

The three players have now got their awards after being chosen the champions, and they have shown excitement and happiness.

The three champions posed with their trophies, celebrating their own accomplishments as well as those of their friends. The top players also expressed a desire to maintain their consistency and win many more awards in the future.

The award-winning group is now preparing for the last game of the epic cricket series vs Australia with the Test team in Lahore. On March 21, they will face Australia in the 3rd Test match at Gaddafi Stadium.
